Mosques

There are five mosques in HK, four of them on HK Island, one in Kowloon.
 
 
Jamiathe Masjid/Shelley Street Mosque

  • 30 Shelley Street, Central
  • built in 1890, rebuilt in 1905, the oldest mosque in Hong Kong
  • listed by the government as a historical building to be preserved as heritage
  • has recently been renovated
  • plan to construct an Islamic Cultural Centre by its side
 
Masjid Ammar & Osman Ramju Sadick Islamic Centre

  • 40 Oi Kwan Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong
  • opened in 1981
  • frequently visited by Muslims, can accommodate 700 people
 
Chai Wan Mosque

  • in Cape Collision
  • also a Muslim cemetery there
 
Stanley Mosque

  • Stanley Prison, Stanley, Hong Kong

  • inside the Stanley Prison
 
Kowloon Mosque  
(Tel :2724 0095) 
  • 105 Nathan Road, TST, Kowloon
  • opened in 1984, replacing the old mosque built in 1896 on the same site
  • built at a cost of HK$25 million
  • can accommodate up to 2,000 people
